  • Vienna Suite and Soft-e Licencer

    Hi Chaps

Have you considered allowing the Soft-e Licencer for the Vienna Suite?  I'm in the market from some new mastering s/w for my laptop based studio and don't want to carry a dongle around (I'm not using VSL Library on the laptop for that very reason).  So far Ozone or T-Racks seem to be the best option, but I like the sound of Vienna Suite demo on my desktop and if VSL would consider the software e-licencer that would be great

    Thanks

    Tim

  • in several support cases it turned up that expired or for other reasons invalid soft eLicensers prevented access to USB eLicensers, which makes me think this is generally not a desirable option ...

whereas licenses can be transferred from soft to USB eLicensers (if configured) the other way around is not possible.

and remember: only a CRAY can run an endless loop in just three seconds.
  • Thanks Christian

Do you think then that either Yammaha/Syncrosoft or VSL might "innovate" and create a smaller usb dongle - there can't be much need for the things to be the size they are in the ever shrinking technology world we live in...

Something the size of those little usb wireless mouse adapters that barely stick out of the usb port would be ideal!

    Cheers

  • Regarding soft-elicenser, on top of the problems cm mentions, this solution makes execution and startups even slower, and offers rather weak protection. A smaller dongle does not seem to be on the horizon for now, but it would for sure be nice, since my current ones keep on cracking as soon as I lift the laptops in the wrong way :)

  • I know what you mean!  Perhaps Herb can go and lean on Syncrosoft to sort something out....
