  • articulations: relative volumes (sib. 5.2.5 + VSL SE)

    Hi,

Is anyone else noticing that playback volume for the different articulations is hugely unbalanced?  Specifically, legato samples are much softer than sustained, staccato, etc.  I know that I can edit the volume of the articulation in the edit cell, but I was wondering if anyone had a better explanation and/or solution for what is going on?

    Thanks,

    Omid

  • i have the same problem. since im old fashioned and have time to kill i am producing a seperate score for VE playback that I can mess up with articulation data and dynamic data to get it to playing correctly. in the sibelius "dictionary" you can reassign the velocity data that sibelius sends for each dynamic. If I knew the proper numbers (between 1-127) I could reassign my dictionary to send the proper dynamics to VE.

  • Go to dictionary, select articulations, locate accent, underneath click the box "adjust dynamic to". by default sibelius is raising the volume 120%
