  • Using more than one instance of VSL SE+ in Sibelius.

    Hi there,

I have created two instances of the VSL SE+, but don't know how to use them...

I have filled out instruments 1-16, but don't know how to get instruments 17-32...

    Any help would be appreciated...

    Thanks,

    Ben.

  • Ben what you've said doesn't quite make sense as you don't create instances of VSL SE+. If you want a playback configuration with 32 instruments then try the following.

In playback devices you create a new playback configuration and activate as many instances of the Vienna Ensemble 2 as you need. As you say two instances will give you 32 instruments.

You then click on the first Venna ensemble and add 16 instruments. In each instrument you load the SE patches or matrices you want. You then click on the second Vienna Ensemble, load that with 16 instruments and again load each instrument with the relevant instrument patch. In each Vienna ensemble you make sure you have numbered each instrument with consecutive channel numbers. Then in Sibelius mixer you go through each instrument choose vienna ensemble 1 or 2 and assign the relevant channel number and hey presto you should be good to go.

Not forgetting to save the configuration with a new name and save every time you have the playback window open. It's a good habit to get into even if you haven't changed anything. Cos the one time you make some big changes and don't save in the playback window, when you close sibelius, even if you have saved the score you will lose the changes you made to the playback configuration

    Hope that helps

  • Thank you!
