    Hi

    I have a question about using Vienna Ensmeble with Pro-Tools HD. I am currently using Pro-Tools LE but am about to drop alot of money to upgrade to HD. But I was wondering if I will see any improvement in relation to using it with Vienna Ensemble 3.

    I have Vienna Ensemble 3 running on a PC server connected to my Mac running Pro-Tools. This all works fine, although it is very resource hungry and I am limited to 32 instruments (LE AHHHH!)

    So if I upgrade to Pro-Tools HD apart from the summing headroom of 48bit, will I get any advantage in relation to using Vienna. As as far as I can work out, the virtual instrument tracks linking to my Vienna Ensmeble on the PC still will have to run on my machine and not on the HD Core Card. Therefore I will not really see any performance improvement? Is this correct?

     I don't think you will get any improvement in your VSL stuff.  Not that there would be no benefit in having an HD around of course.  But you'd save enough money to buy the Complete Production Toolkit  (you get 64 instrument tracks), buy a faster DAW computer, buy another Complete Production Toolkit  for me as a gift, and take a nice vacation.
