  • Vienna Ensemble tool and logic 7 crash.

Since installing the Vienna Ensemble tool, Logic 7 crashes a lot more than it ever did - as in regularly. I'm using OSX 10.5.5 on a 2.66 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo iMac. I never had any problems with logic crashing before installing the VE tool, even on my old iMac (ppc 1.8 GHz) from a few years ago while running the Solo Strings through the EXS tool. I might get a core overload but not a total logic crash.

I can use my Solo Strings the old way but the downloaded soprano choir (the reason I needed to install the VE tool) doesn't let me create an EXS instrument in the same way I am used to.

Any thoughts, suggestions or work-arounds would be appreciated.

You aren't trying to load the choir in EXS are you? It can only be played with the Vienna Instruments player (which can be hosted in Vienna Ensemble). No need for any tool.

  • No I'm not trying to load the choir into EXS. If I could set up some basic EXS instruments then I could bypass the VE Tool all together and avoid what I feel is causing the crashing.

I'll do what MS says and see what VSL can suggest.

  • Sorry to bump my own thread here but having sent the requested crash log to the support team on the 23rd of December and then a subsequent follow up email on the 8th I am still waiting for a response.

I'm really just posting it here in the hope that my issue will go back on someone's radar.
