  • using the automatic key swichings of Finale by import in Logic

As known, Finale is able to do automaticly the key swiches according to the articulations and phrasingsin of the score.

(Midi/Audio=>midi value=>patch=>Bank 0, Bank select 32, Programm change 1 and appoggiatura tabslide tool a third before following note for position change in Strings, legato bow for legato).

Is it possible to save these presets of the score in a manner, that the host of Midi (e.g. Logic) maintains these keyswiches? I had a similar question, if I use other notes inside the score to change switches where are they?

  • Hi Juda!

To my knowledge there is no way to export the Human Playback Preferences to Logic or a MIDI file. So if you want to use a MIDI file you created with Finale in Logic, you will have to create the key switches again.
However, I'm not 100% sure about that. Maybe there is some way and somebody else knows a trick on this matter.

  • I assume you are talking about Human Playback.

Yes, you can save this information as a midifile and then import this file into Logic.

    >Select all measures

    >Plug-in meny >Playback >Apply Human Playback

Click on Preferences and make sure the VSL HP prefs are selected. This is not always the case, even if you have selected the VSL prefs in the Playback window.

    Save as a standard midifile.

Open this file in Logic (do not import, otherwise all global midi data will be ignored)
