Hey you all.
I´m looking for a not too expensive nearfield monitoring system.
I will need it mainly to mix my mockups and layouts. Some theatre and smaller TV-Gigs wil also be mixed on the system.
Any recomandation?
All the best,
Stephan

Which Nearfield Monitoring System would you recomend?

There a lots of different low priced monitors and the quality is getting better and better. I have a sub in my system, but if you are doing mostly VSL stuff, you may not need one (I do pop stuff also). I would suggest burning some of your mixes onto a CD and taking that to a dealer and listen to it on lots of models. You will probably fall in love with a maker who's product corresponds to how you hear. All best

Yes you do...if you get your low-end wrong (very easily done) the whole theater may be BOOMING because of low HZ standing waves that you din't nuke in the EQ because you never heard them since you don't have a sub. SvK

I´m using different types of genelec monitors in different studios that I work in (1031, 1032, 8030), at home I use the 1029 with a sub and that works fine for me. Two or three years ago I was testing Blue Sky-monitors (two systems, one the size of the 1029s, one the size of the 1031a) for a magazine. Very good quality for the money.
