Hi all.
I am trying to create some powerful percussion rythms and I am not getting very far. I am aiming for big military arrangements, like the type used in movies i.e. Gladiator/Lord of the Rings etc.
I have never played drums and spent my life focussing on lead guitar so writing orchestral melodies comes naturally.
I have all the equipment and software available to create big orchestral compositions but I don't have a clue about creating rythms. I really don't understand which drums to use and how to arange them without making them conflict with the melodies I write. Very frustrating indeed.
Does anybody know where I can start to learn about orchestral percussion? Any good books? Anything online?
