  • SIR 2 Convolution Reverb

I have used SIR 1 for some time with some success although latency is a problem.

I am considering upgrading SIR 2. Does anyone have experience of using this with VSL/VI?

I would be interested in your comments.

btw Its pouring rain in Scotland at the moment.

I've not yet used SIR2 in anger, but in faffing about with it (technical term, there), it does seem to have clearer sound. It certainly has more options, a tidier UI, and no fixed latency, unlike SIR1.

I use it from Cubase, if that helps.

  • You guys should try living in Ireland, we *love* talking about how awful the weather is.

  • Great idea, actually! :-) ... But it's easy to that in Vienna right now, too - during the night we are close to 0°C these days (yes, it's mid-September) :-P

  • Hello, SIR 2 is about 200 Euros with additional IRs is the M.I.R. will cost around the same price or more close than the ALTIVERB price ???

  • Thanks for your interest, Pro-Arte. Taking into account that we use literally hundreds of single IRs to re-create _one_ room or hall within the MIR (for each of three or four mic-positions!), I think it's quite understandable that it will cost more than products that use one, two or even ten IRs for the same task.
