Hi all,
I am having a bear of a time with my current device and am considering ditching it for this Novation Remote SL that I hear so much about.
I currently have a Technics 88-key digital piano (which has amazing touch and feel, and does amazing for real-time playback). However it has no mod wheel etc. Therefore I bought an M-audio Axiom 25 to try to get some interface with Logic 8, as well as a mod wheel etc. I have to admit that I don't seem to care for it much. It's not being cooperative with me at the moment. Maybe it's a user (ID10T) error. Is anyone out there using this Axiom 25 (or even the 49 or 61) that might be able to help me with a few things? What I ultimately want is a way to have a set of preset settings that I can use for playback, so I can adjust modwheel dynamics etc as I play in real-time. Then say another full setup that is completely tied into logics mixer for adjusting mix and volumes etc. I want to be able to just hit 1 button and viola, the whole next preset kicks in so when I go from live playback, I hit one button and I am ready to modify the mixer and so on. Maybe a 3rd that gives me access to the additional channels of the mixer (when I have say 16 or 24 channels of midi or audio)
Is the Axiom 25 good for this and worth putting in the effort to get over the learning curve, or is the Novation Remote SL the way to go? I don't see mod wheels etc on it so was curious about that. I know Christian owns one, and I hear a lot of you others do too. But maybe I can save the money and spend it on instruments.
I guess if what I own will get the job done efficiently maybe someone could help me out some and help me get it setup? I tried M-audio forums and got no where. I have started going into Logic and doing "learn mode" and teaching the interface one button at a time but haven't gotten past the basic commands like play, stop, record etc.
Any help you can give me would be appreciated.
