  • Panning VI's?

Just wondered if anyone could shed some light on how to pan the instruments. I went to pan the individual tracks on cubase but nothing happened and there doesn't appear to be an panning controls on the VI interface.

  • Hello, what did you pan in Cubase - the MIDI tracks or the tracks with the VI? VI has no panning, so it relies on on the panning in you host or on VE (which is free in version 2 for VI users anyways). hope that helps

  • Say for the violin, on the actual track parameters e.g. volume, pan, etc I moved the pan slider and it didn't do anything. I tried the automating pan as well but no luck. I'd have thought these would be able to pan the track regardless of the source. The volume slider works... hmmm any ideas?

  • MIDI panning isn't implemented in VI, because it's pretty much useless. You need to pan the VSTi Outputs in Cubase for each instrument, unless you want to do in in Vienna Ensemble instead. In Cubase there are three panning modes. read the manual and pick the most suitable for you. As long as it isn't the "single line" panner you will be OK.
