  • Favorite individual film cues of all time?


    The Road, Farenheit 451, Bernard Hermann; Main Title and First Victim, Jaws, John Williams, and Shifting Gears, Bullitt, Lalo Schifrin.

    Another day and I might recall others I'm just as enthusiastic about, but I'll hand these in now.

  • Certainly the Main Title Music from Herrmann's VERTIGO is one of them... it perfectly sets the mood for the whole movie. I also like the "Love Music" very very much (i'm a big fan of Wagner's Tristan Und Isolde).

  • Hmmm!  There are so many but the three that come to mind:

    The Battle of Fort Wagner at the end of Glory (Music by James Horner) when the Massachusettes 54th make their final assault on the confederate guns.  Very moving and climactic at the same time.  A nice choral arrangement for a war movie.

    The light saber fight between Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader at the end of Return Of The Jedi (John Williams)  Another nice choral arrangement.

    And "Gina's Theme" in Scarface (Giorgio Moroder).  I don't know, there's just something about that warm analog synthy song that moves me for some reason.  Can't explain it.

    Oh! and one more, the main title to 1941 (John Williams)  The theme is so exagerated and overdone but fit the plot of the movie perfectly.  Wrongly considered to be Steven Spielberg's first major flop, it actually grossed a profit.

    I said three but oops! I listed four, sorry.
