    Using a slave machine for my samples (SE+) and VE3 over network, where should I put the reverb in the chain?

    Shoud I directly use the reverb on my slave, or onto my master machine?

    I use reverb (Altiverb in this case) on the master DAW, and not the slaves. Two slaves pipeback a dry signal via VE3.

    SVK gave these suggestions about splitting up the early reflections and the reverb tail between two instances of Altiverb. If you do a search, I'm sure you can find the topic. But basically, on the DAW I create busses (6 of them, which will serve as 3 reverb depths -- one pair of reverbs for each depth -- a pair for front (strings), pair for middle (woodwinds) and a pair for back, (brass and percussion)) and I put one instance of Altiverb on each bus (6 instances). For each pair of reverbs, one of the intances will have early reflection only, with tail and dry signal turned off. The other instance of the pair will have tail only, and the dry signal and early reflections will be turned off.

    I'll set up, say, my flute track with two audio sends ("pre-send", instead of "post-send"), one send to each of the 'middle' Altiverb pair, so one send is going to the early reflection Altiverb and the other send is going to the tail Altiverb. This way you can use the flute track's volume fader to control the amount of dry level being sent to the reverb busses and you're also able to control the amount of early reflection and tail through the send knobs. But so far, I find myself setting the instruments stage position (front to back) mostly with the instrument's (flute) volume fader. I generally have left the 'sends' set at '0'  so they are sending out their nominal signal.

    Anyway, you may already know all this, but I thought I'd mention it. Like I say, SVK is the one who turned me on to this, and there are a few discussion about on this and other forums.
