StuffIt Expander Error

I always get the following error, when I want to expand the 3th Performane Set CD:

"An error has occurred while expanding the file "02 Viola ensemble - 10 part2.exe" (Format error).

Is this a known error or is my file corrupt?

I use StuffIt Standard 8.0.2.

A lot of people (myself included) have had this problem with this file. VSL are investigating - it will open OK on a PC but not a Mac.

Use version 6 of Stuffit to open - there is a link on the EXS forum for this tool

Interesting - I have never had this problem and I too used StuffIt 8.2 and Mac.

An OS issue perhaps? I used Jaguar when I expanded those files.

How is everything going with Panther Pahe? I'm considering upgrading to Panther and was curious to see if you have found any other issues

My EXS box even had a note in it telling you about that file.

By the way, there's a $50 utility called MacDrive from MediaFour.com that lets you connect Mac-formatted drives to a PC (without performance penalty, according to them; Avid bundles it with their systems, so it's not like they're unaware of the issues). I did the bulk of the installing on a Windows machine, letting me continue working on the Mac and using the 16X DVD reader (my SuperDrive reads DVDs at 2X, I think).

However, a few programs didn't extract properly and I had to go back and redo them. Who knows why that happened.

Frederick, at the moment, everything with Panther is ok,....because I'm still installing the DVDs. [:D]

I try to expand everthing with StuffIt 6.01 and it works.

In the meantime I tried to use VSL and also the performance tool and it works fine.
