  • Do you need Multiple Licenses for EXS24 Version?

    Hi there,

if I want to use the EXS24 edition on more than one mac to get more power (let's say 2 or 3), I guess I'll have to get as many Logic Audio licenses than stations, right? Do you know if there's a deal going on for that?

I mean the edition is already pretty expensive but it will be even more if you have to buy multiple logic licenses and it doesn't really make any sense since you will be using Logic only to run the EXS24.

How do you guys do it?
It might be better to use gigasamplers then but some stuff is missing in the giga edition like the layers on the performance set. Is there an upgrade coming soon on the giga side?

I'd rather stay on mac all the way through but I don't want to spend extra bucks...

    Still the same story !

  • vinco, AFAIK there is no such thing like a site-license for logic/exs, maybe because exs is more or less *only* a plugin into logic, but maybe you have just to ask them for an option?
regarding updates to the gigastudio mappings - there will be updates. since i'm seriously hoping to have at least a release candidate of GS after NAMM and several test will have to be done after that and and a new mapping will need it's time, you shouldn't expect art-files too soon.
i'm sure we will know more in a week or two.

  • Hi Christian.

    Thanks for your answer.

As far as licenses go for Emagic, it's a little more tricky.
I wouldn't feel embarassed to use the same license on 2 different computers in the same room since I'd be the only user at the same time.

To me, it makes sense you shouldn't buy the software twice to do so.

However, as you know it, Emagic requires a key to make Logic or any other softs working (such as the EXS24). This would then require another key to have a 2nd computer running Logic-EXS24. Do you follow me?

That was my question. I'm going to ask the question to Emagic too. I think the answer might be of interest to lots of people here. Maybe you could do it too since you'll probably have more power (and feedback) from a big company like VSL rather than a poor musician like me [:)]

  • vinco, i'm fully aware of that - sorry for beeing probably unclear in my post.
whereas a registered user is entitled to run as many copies if the library she/he might find usefull on her/his computers, i've not heard such an option exists for applications. maybe there is a discount for multiple licenses - please ask emagic directly, at least i know this exists for gigastudio.
