  • Enabling both VI instruments and Vienna Ensemble AU causes Logic to crash.......

    Hi all,

Enabling both VI instruments AU  and Vienna Ensemble2 AU causes Logic to crash.......

I found this out the hard way...........I kept crashing in Logic 8.01 (leopard 10.5.2 / Mac Pro Quad 2.66Ghz, 16 gig RAM)....so I rebuilt my template from scratch (22 hours of work)....still was crashing on "Bounce" and on "save"....

......then I checked my AU manager.........Both Ensemble AND Vienna Instruments were enabled....I disabled Vienna Ensemble and now all is well.....

TEAM Vienna, if you can confirm my findings, please post this as a BIG FAT sticky on the forum, so some other poor souls don't go through this agony......

    Thanx,

    SvK

  • I'm currently running Ensemble and VI side by side in Logic 8.01 sessions on a MacPro3.2 (OSX 10.5.2) they are pretty stable and work well together to allow more RAM allocation. I have had crashes but generally the apps are pretty stable. Frequent switching between songs sometimes throws up Ensemble errors of various sorts but i either click and ignore and the session works or just reload. Have you tried launching both Vienna Instruments and Ensemble as stand-alones, then launch Logic and run au manager to re-scan? Julian
