  • programming ides for combining AP1 sus and legato patches?

    Hi there,

I have found on a recent project (farily mellow score) the the AP1 'sus' patch is actually quite expressive (using velxfading tied into a foot pedal and the 'attack' tied into a mod wheel.)   While this works VERY well on the slower stuff - I would really also like the 'legato' for the medium tempo string movements.   Sometimes legato just gives me fits to sound 'smooth' enough.

Again the all 'sus' patch on AP1 is so darn beautiful and expressive (with controllers as noted).

    Any suggestions?

  • AP1? Which instrument is this? You gave me a good idea for the attack on mod wheel. Never thought to try that, thanks.

  •  First appasionata library (although same works well with the mutes - AP2).

Attack breaths a lot life into certain notes of certain phrases.   Have fun with it!

  • Hi Rob,

sorry if that is too obvious: Did you try the "_4vel" patches?

  • For sure Paul I am aware of the 4 vel patches but I don't know what it is exactly but I just don't prefer their 'tone' over the standard sus patches.  Don't get me wrong - I would love the deeper velxfade for expression.

Has anyone else had this experience?  If not - how do you mostly use them?
