    Just wanting to know if there is a difference. Do you get more velocity layers in the in the performance legato of the full solo strings? Or are they identical?

    I have the original SE DVD version, but I hope this helps anyway: the solo violin legatos in SE and Solo Strings both have 2 velocity layers. The Solo Strings version has two extra notes (C# & D) at the top end and is 71Mb in size, whereas the SE patch is 62Mb. I would imagine the SE instrument uses fewer samples, but dynamically it's the equal of the full version.
