  • Menus in Ensemble

Been using my setup for a few weeks now (Win Xp x64, sib 5, VE, Altiverb) and it's been working very well.

Now suddenly the menus in VE have stopped responding! ie can't save/load etc

    Any ideas?

I've reinstalled and it hsan't resolved...

  • Further...

this is when I have 3GB of samples in the RAM. I have 8 GB RAM in total

Is this just a windows problem and I'm being an idiot?

  • Steve,

How are you running VE and Sib?
As a plugin in Sib or stand-alone?

If as a plugin you won't be able to see all the
ram because Sib is not 64bit.

  • Hi

    It's as a plugin.

VE lets me load over 3 Gb of samples - and plays fine! Also VE tells me I have about 3GB more available space....

So I'm a little confused about quite what Sib is using. It says it's  the 64 bit VE... I guess that can't be the case?

    Thanks for the help

  • Steve,

You can only take advantage of the extra ram available in a 64 bit
system if everything is 64 bit.

That means your plugin, audio interface, OS, and in your case Sib have to all be
64 bit for you to be able to load more than 3gb of samples.

Your case sib is not 64 bit so if you use VE as a plugin within Sib it will be limited
to 3gb at which point you will experience strange behavior.

I recommend you use VE as a stand-alone application and use virtual midi cables to
pipe midi from sib to VE.

    Hope that helps.
