• Appassionata Strings I

     Hi all,

I'm planning to buy Appassionata I full , I have to orchestrate a very fast tempo string section, I want to know if Appassionata is the right library for up tempo scores.

I would like to hear some up tempo demos but I don't find it.

    Thanks so much

  •  Anyone?

  • My initial pick would be the regular orchestral strings. The short notes there are tighter and due to the more pronounced sound of the Orch Strings it wont sound as muddy as it might with APP.

This is just theory - in real life I might end up going for App. So perhaps someone else can chime in as well.

  • I never use App Stings staccato, unless I want a long, woolly sound. I use Orchestral Strings, with the usual layerings.

    Hi Steve

Listen to the demo "BK_Starwars Snippet2" at http://www.beat-kaufmann.com/demos/index.html

Scroll down in the Player "U.Music"

I used the Appassionata Strings for this short demo.

Further: Listen to these two excerpts

    only Violins:  http://www.beat-kaufmann.com/Example1.mp3

    only Violas:   http://www.beat-kaufmann.com/Example2.mp3

Even if the demo is not a really good one you recognize that the appassionatas can play very

fast - specially with all the Performance-Articulations

  • All good answers.  In additional if you need extra tightness (and grittiness) the spiccatos in 'Chamber' are wonderful.
