  • Question on simple Velocity X-Fade in Logic 8

Hi, sorry for the simple question. Ive read through the posts but didnt find the exact answer. How can I record the VXF automation after my initial pass in Logic 8, whether I assign it to the mouse (what cc is that?) or the mod wheel? Also, how can i change the sensitivity? its a bit rough. Long time PT guy new to Logic. thx Rich

  • Press A in logic to get the automation on each track to pop up. Also set the x-fade to a midi controller or channel so that you can actually edit it. You can also do this in the Piano Scroll area.

  • I find it easiest to open the Breath controller editor in the piano roll ... see the little I con on the bottom left of the piano roll screen .. click that to get your controller editor. Then use the Breath control. On the VI player you'll have to assign the Velocity xfade to controller 7 (or CC7 as it is also known), and thus the breath automation will work fine.
