Hi guys ... sorry but I just can't sit on this till the next podcast :P On a merest whim I decided to do a rendition of the Danger Mouse theme ... if you don't know what Danger Mouse is then you didn't grow up in Britain during the 80's :D IF you want to know more about it .. it's cartoon series, and a very funny one at that and you can find out about it here:

Anyways, the DVD's have the same mono sound as back in the day .. and no ones gone out to remaster it. Not that I'm looking to do this either, but I couldn't resist trying it out with the VSL. This uses the TODD AO room set aswell, so this is also a further test of that reverb. Although I'll admit I brought things a bit closer than I would normally cos it sounded better to me.

It's worth a laugh and only meant as a bit of fun. So go on and have a listen. Only big problem with this piece is that there's no vocal. Had to substitute a cello and sax to fill in that melody bit. But can't have it all. Anyways there it is.

P.S. Did this piece in about 3 hours .. so I'll probably look at it tomorrow and realize that it sounds awful :D

Could do with less (big hall like) reverb and more TV orientated compression and EQ .... but
I can't criticize seriously - it's great!More 80's TV shows please! [:)]

It is actually the full version of the ending credits .. plus the beginning fanfare. I listened intently to the theme from the DVD to piece together the arrangement. But what's really missing is the vocal. Although I should be able to add an explosion .. I'll do that for the podcast version. Anyways glad you guys enjoyed it. As I say it's only a bit of fun. Shame the trumpets didn't sound to real .. but I'm not sure what else to do there. Maybe this is just the limit of a sample library. . If anyone knows a good vocalist who could sing the dangermouse song let me know .. I'd love to finish this theme off with that. . Heto@ralf said:

Oh my god!! I have not heard that music in such a long time. Nicely done (Though a little too much reverb for my taste - but still nice).
You don't need to be from Britain to know Danger Mouse. They showed it here in the states on Nickelodeon during the 80s.
