  • Sample Rates

I've looked for various posts on this, and have seen much information and jargo on what sample rates to use? Of course, you can get bettter quality with 96khz if recording with other high quality sources such as a real instrument and a high end mic.

However, when anyone uses samples and VI's (VLS or any others) is there really a difference at 24bit/96khz? And when you master to CD, do you notice a difference at that time as well (when applying a dither algorythm of course) as opposed to just starting with 24bit/44.1

  • There might be some plugins, which give a slightly better quality with higher sampling rates (heard of that for EQs and Reverbs).

But since the samples are in 44.1kHz, they alone won't sound better, if you work with rates higher than 44.1kHz.
