  • Switching matrices with CC 101-112: but how?

Hello, according to the manual one should be able to use CC101-112 for switching from matrix to matrix within a Preset, this instead of using keyswitches.

This is exactly what I need to do, but I do not get it to work.

    My questions:

    - does one use one CC with different values to switch, OR:

    - do you use CC101-112 as if they were midi note numbers? If so, which value should be sent along with the CC number?

In my Aple Mac setup, VI sits in LogicPro, and MIDI is sent from MaxMSP on the IAC Bus to LogicPro. I checked that my connections are working properly.

    Thanks,

    Marius

  • maybe a misunderstanding ... it is not a defined controller (where 101 would be registered parameter number, coarse), but a program change message where 101 - 112 is used to switch to the assigned matrix

and remember: only a CRAY can run an endless loop in just three seconds.
  • Thanks christian, I misread the manual indeed. I have tried again, and it still does not work with program changes on the IAC bus (though it does work now within Logic). And that has to do with channel assignments in my setup, I should be able to figure that out. Thanks for your help, Marius

  • Also it should be noted that some programs number things slightly differently: some use a MIDI scale of 0-127, while others use a MIDI scale of 1-128. Thus, to get program change 101 in Vienna Instruments, one needs to send Program Change 102 from Finale, etc. I am able to do this successfully using the IAC bus.

It would be helpful, I think, if, instead of the two dashes that now appear in the switches of a preset when one disables the keyswitches, Program Change numbers appeared.

  • I too stumbled upon the differences in offset of Program Change numbers. And likewise, the Midi Channel numbers have a different offset in different applications, either zero or one. This turned out to be my second problem.
