  • Vocaloid Prima

    Hi,

based on the Yamaha engine, a new version of Vocaloid is out.

It generates a voice track (Female Soprano Voice) based on midi notes.

There starts to be intriguing examples on the Internet.

Here is a interesting piece I found on youtube :

I think it is a huge improvement over the older ones and good enough for sketches of voice tracks.

Mix this with the VSL Choir... just imagine..

Too old for Rock n Roll. Too young for 9th symphonies. Wagner Lover, IRCAM Alumni. Double Bass player starting in low Es. I am where noise is music.
  • Yes, VSL would be a perfect marriage for this. It is quite impressive I must admit. Looking on other videos of Vocaloid, the voice sounds great, but the lyrics and accent is almost amusing, Like an Italian soprano singing with a jamaican accent mixed with a robotic speech.

  •  Hmmmm.......not a big fan. It'd sound okay with just vowels, but it sounds pretty wretched for emulating words.

Still, I'd like to see if they make a boy choir vocaloid.
