  • Patch-Keyswitching: Can the key-switch and the played note be set to the same position?

I´m a bit confused, cause somtimes it works, when I quantize the keyswitch-note and the note, making the sound, to the same position, and sometimes it does not. So my question is: Does the keyswitch event have to happen before the note or can they have the same position, in order to get the patch-switch regognized?

  • The playing order is up to your sequencer. Midi is a serial protocol and can not deliver 2 midi-events at a time.

Make sure to set the keyswitches BEFORE the sounding note.

If you have an extra-track for your keyswitches I suggest the following: Some sequencers offer a function delay for midi-tracks. Set a negative delay for the Keyswitches-Track so the events are being played earlier than the sounding notes. So you can still quantize the KSes but they will always be played before the corresponding note.
