  • Power Panner in Vienna Instrument ... any chance?

Would it be possible to implement the Power Panner in future versions of the Vienna Instrument (as well as Ensemble), for thos of us is still like the odd instance of VI ?

    Thanks

  • Seconded! Julian

  • Can't you just pan the VI output in your sequencer?

  •  In Logic you can't truely pan/width control a stereo source unless it's on 2 mono channels - should be the same, I guess, for all DAW's

There is a plug-in in Logic that reduces width/pans a stereo image but the width reduction affects the pan (a stereo image made fully mono does not respond at all to the position (pan) control in the plug-in.

So having the very clear graphics regarding panning available in the VI would stop the need of having to insert a direction control plug-in and then fiddle with the panning on the channel pot.

Ah, I see. This isn't a problem in Cubase or Nuendo.

  • There is a free power panning VST effect from mda-vst http://mda.smartelectronix.com/ called "Image" which I always use for panning. If you use that on the VI output channel it should do the job, though maybe having the settings saved with the VI instance could also be a plus for the VI implemented power panning.

    All the best,

From today's point of view, it seems to be a problem of Logic alone. Most, if not all other major DAWs offer at least one way to have independent pan-positions for the left and the right channel of a stereo signal.

  •  yes, but the vsl solution is sooooooo elegant. And an integrated solution would beone less window / plug-in /external knob to keep track of.
