  • Vienna Ensemble not showing up in digital performer 5.13

Can anyone help me out getting VE to show up in my instrument plug-ins pull down menu? It shows up in Logic 8 and Cubase 4 but not in DP 5.13 which I need to use for a film score I'm working on. Thanks Dave

  •  VE only works as it's own standalone application, not as an instrument plugin within DP 5.13. In DP 5.13 you can open instances of Vienna Instruments, one at a time. If you want many VSL instruments at once use VE as a standalone application. On my Mac Pro Intel 8 Core I use 4 VE instances, each fully loaded with nearly 3GB of instruments, while sequencing in DP 5.13. It takes some configuring to get it all working, but once you save your configurations it comes up right every time.

  • VE does indeed work as a plug-in in DP 5.13 - I use it that way all the time (in addition to using multiple standalone VEs).  Should show up as an instrument track choice in the DP project menu's add track pull-down menu.  If it's not there, look for the VE AU component in root/library/audio/plug-ins/components.

  • I agree. VE works as a plugin in DP 5.13. I would first try trashing DP's preferences from the User Library. If that doesn't solve the problem, I would re-install VE and make sure that the VSL Directory Manager is up to date and its database refreshed.

  • Thanks guys. I actually found that I had to delete something from the preference DP folder. How to reset the AU validation. Digital Performer: Trash the "Audio Unit Info Cache" file and then relaunch Digital Performer: Macintosh HD / Users / 'Your Account' / Library / Preferences / Digital Performerâ„¢ / Audio Unit Info Cache

  • Yes DC, JWL mentions that right above your post there ;- )
