  • Problems with VE

I am having a rather strange problem. I am running a Quad Core Q6600 2.4 with 8 GB Corsair Ram and Asus P5K Deluxe motherboard.

I have just started my first session on VE and its great! The power panning is amazing!

However, when I hit around 3.6 GB of Ram - The samples dont load anymore. For example - I had everything running smoothly - then I loaded one muted legato violin file and it just dint make any sound - All other VI's inside were fine. Except then suddenly - one of the violins also stopped playing. The samples are all loaded - the MIDI is fine but they dont generate any audio even though VI shows its loaded and around 3.9 GB is still available to use.

I loaded another VE and tried to load those samples - they load up fine and I can see the Audio out meter in VI but there is no sound reaching my sound card ont he same channel that is working fine in the first VE instance.

Why is this happening? Any thoughts?> I cant firgure it out. I am using HDSP RME 9652 - hooked up all digitally. I have tried different buffer sizes but it just works between 256 and 512 - any other buffer size and I get no audio from newhere. Also - I have to match these buffer zise settings inside the VE plaer to get it working too!

    Pleas help

    Thanks.

    Best,

    Tanuj.

  • No, this is what you should be doing. Are you using 32bit Cubase is the next question? Also are you using any sort of virtual mixer with the soundcard (such as Total Mix)?

  • Ah, I see. I think that you better contact RME, because it sounds like there is a 32bit something between VE and the soundcard causing problems. It could be the mixer. Are you sure it's a 64bit app?
