  • Command Line Option

I can't be the only person who would like my PC to boot up and load Ensemble with a .viframe file automatically. At the moment there seems to be no option to "Load Previous Session at Startup" or specify a file from the command line. It would be great to get this implemented. Otherwise - fantastic!!!

  • It's not a big deal to me, as loading an empty preset takes so little time. However, do make sure that you have a startup file for the VI or you will have to set that up every time you create a new Instrument.

  • Is it possible to have the saved templates opened via double click from the desktop? (Don't have VIs or VE yet, so I don't know...)

I haven't tried it, but you can use a shortcut, so it would only mean 1 x double click and 2 x single clicks. Not much hassle when the samples could take 15 minutes to load. [:)]

  • But computers could be remotely started via lan power or scheduled process or power plugs able to receive SMS (hehe, well I don't know the correct english name for them, they just turn on the power if you send a SMS to this device) when you are still 15 minutes away from home and don't want to wait for the thing to boot up. Or you could simply leave the PC for 18 minutes after you turned it on.

  • Yeah, maybe. But there are many way more important things to worry about IMO.

  • So it the files can't be double clicked? I agree there is more important things to do, but if it's possible, why shouldn't we help this guy?

  • I agree it's not a big deal but I have five PCs to switch on every time I start work. EmulatorX and Kontakt have these options and it's not as if they are difficult to implement!

  • Double click possible? Yes or no?

    No.

  • Hi,

Is there any option to copy (duplicate) instruments?

Sometimes I need the same settings for an instrument, and it would be nice to just copy it...

    Thanks

You can save an empty preset with all your controllers set, if that is what you are after. You can also set a startup.fxb file, that then becomes your default instrument setup.

  • What I'm looking for is an easy away to copy instruments in Vienna Ensemble.

Like: I've a Clarinet Patch with all  controllers and I want to copy that for the 2nd Clarinet...

As we've Insert Instrument and Remove, we could have a copy or/and drag and drop...

Hope to see it on the next update. :)))

You're getting your terminology confused, which is why I wasn't quite sure what you were after. You don't mean clarinet patch, you either mean Clarinet Matrix, which saves the individual controllers for that slot in the Perform GUI, or Clarinet Preset, which saves not only the individual controllers, but also the general controllers for the Perform GUI for all matrices loaded. In both these cases, you can just save and load in next to no time. There are no controllers for patches, apart from A/B switches.

    I hope that this helps.
