Is anybody here using Nuendo as their DAW? Logic is currently a mess and I was thinking of taking the leap to Nuendo? Any thoughts on it as a DAW?
(Please I don't want a discussion of Logic here!)

Cubase is probably enough, if you have been happy with Logic up until now. Things you need to know:
1) There are a couple of bugs with C4.1 which may or may not affect the way that you like to work. The maintenance update is due early next month which should fix these.
2) Cubase works much better on PC than on Mac.
3) There is a problem with running at low latencies on 8 core Macs.
Other than that, Cubase has many more features than you have been used to, particularly in the MIDI department, but I would suggest trying it out before you buy. You may be able to get a NFR version from your distributor of Nuendo, if not Cubase. Just check that you won't miss the extra features of Nuendo.

Hello again..
Please be very specific abut the mixdown "problem" that the resolutio of the automation and with which plug ins....
Again please specific to what the issues are !..
Bt the way I am the Product Specialist for Yamaha and Steinberg.....in US
Hmmm. If you're the product specialist, then you really ought to know about these bugs. I really suggest that you spend a few hours haunting the Cubase and Nuendo forums, and then you will have a better idea of some of the problems that currently exist. Here are a couple that affect me. The first is a showstopper which makes N4.1 unusable with MEAP. Therefore I am sticking to N3 until it is fixed.

Hi
For this topic...http://forum.nuendo.com/phpbb2/viewtopic.php?t=16059
are you using the defualt template or ur VSL template.....
Also not sure how to see your set system in your sig if there is one...
For the 2nd topic....I will try to repro with the App instrument and will report back...
And my appologies for not knowing every single issue of the application...
I have tried it with various templates, and there is always a problem.
Anyway, I digress. This is really not the correct forum to discuss all of this. I'm really hoping that the maintenance update fixes the main issues for me, because there are features that I would like to use in N4, but I will need a new machine to run it, so I can't risk trashing my current system until it is reliable.
DGI understand....
As a VI user, I will try to stay on top of isues and will report to the right people. And I hope I can Help ....
You can e-mail me with anything or any one that might be having issues or need some help.
you can use my work e-mail...

Thanks for your offer of help. If there is anything specific to VSL VI I will certainly email you, but at the moment I don't feel that I can risk my livelihood on software that isn't totally reliable yet. All the problems I have had when testing N4 on my system are well known, so there is nothing new to add. I know that Fredo is on top of the bug list and am therefore confident that my main concerns will be addressed in the maintenance update.
Anyway, for the benefit of Simsy, I can certainly recommend N3, and in the new year will be able to recommend N4. The feature list of N3 is far superior to Logic in any flavour, so if you wish to change then I would say you should get a NRF copy and try it out. But not until next year. [;)]
DGHi There,
I am running Nuendo V3.2 and am very happy.
Will soon upgrade to V4 when most of the bugs are ironed out.
It's not the cheapest DAW though...
