    Quite simply, I can't get any vienna instruments to play through logic 8 - they don't show up on any of the menus to load onto tracks as they did in logic 7.2. I've tried the audio scan on logic and all vienna instruments are varified but will not sound. Is the perfomanace tool compatible with logic 8? Do I need to download something to make it so? Urgent help required! Many thanks marc

     Dear Marc,

    please make sure that you have the latest software versions of Vienna Instruments (1.14) and Syncrosoft´s LCC  (5.2.24.0) installed and restart your computer before installation. I´d also recommend to repair permissions with help of <disk utility> on your system.

    The performance tool is already integrated in the Vienna Instruments software.

    dear marc,

    it seems you directed your reply to the administrative email address of the community instead of posting it to the forum ...

    however reading the respective thread:

    you are referring to some *performance tool* but it seems you mean the Vienna Instruments Software.

    since I notice you obviously have already worked with the Vienna Instruments earlier: did you reboot before running any update to make sure no related process is running?

    there are 3 applications involved:

    - the license control center (Syncrosoft)

    - the Vienna Instruments Software

    - logic 8

    I'd recommend to have all 3 up to date.

    the disk utility can be found in applications utility and it is a common mishehaviour on OS X that permissions on your system volume get distorted during an update, so please run *verfy* and if needed *repair* permissions

    finally I would make sure the custom data folder in the directory manager is set properly and the respective location has read & write permissions.

    then remove all locations from the list and add them again using drag & drop from a finder window (everything without having opened logic and/or a Vienna instrument stand-alone player before)
