yeah, this is starting to get irritating. Same deal here. Bought Soprano Choirs. The package.file isnt expanding (im on a Mac); only the FIRST part of Soprano CHoirs (setup-soprano-choir01.cab) fully D/L'ed the whole 192Mg. part two died at 75.8 meg, and now when i re-try to D/L i get empty 842byte files. AAAaargh. VSL, i love you - i really do, but what the heck is going on here? Have the VSL servers exceeded their bandwidth? or am i doing something wrong? help. i'd love to be able to use the product i just paid for.
Sorry, i dont mean to sound brattish or ungrateful... its just that i was so excited to try out new VI's and now i have to wait... If you could just update us as to WHY this is happening, and when we can expect it to work, i'd appreciate it. THanks!

Morning all... Seems to be working much better today. I got up early (5 a.m.!) and I've now got nearly half of the Upright Bass cabs. Fingers crossed...

Hi Anton,
Let's hope we can grab everything while everyone else is having breakfast, eh? As the proverb doesn't quite say, it's the early bird that catches the download instruments. [:)]
I'm about to start cab7, another 3 after that...
Nick
Argh! I managed to get cabs 1-9 and then got as far as 85Mb (of 134Mb) for cab10 and down it went... So near and yet so far. This time, though, I'm able to download again without it grabbing just a 1kb file, I just hope I can get the last cab file and then I'll be able to install the Upright Bass. Here's hoping...

First of all I have to say that I love this company and their great support.
I love the way they produce high end products.
But this download thing is dissapointing.
I don't know how often I tried to download the upright bass now, all in all I downloaded aprox.2gig or more for nothing.
And I am not the only one.
All I got were corrupted files.
Sorry for my words, I am just wondering why.
Soprano Choir download was ok, and the library is very useful!
Thanks.

our sincere apologies - we had to dig around a while until we found the insignificant but disastrous error.
although it is now fixed we will of course watch the behaviour over the next days.
what we cannot catch is interruption of the connection as such, but every download which finishes should no longer be corrupt.
we have also already considered to provide some MD5 hash, but i thought this would be expecting too much from most users.
currently it seems there is no possibility to enable a *resume download* but we will investigate on available options.
thanks for your patience, christian
Hi Christian,
Here's some info on what kept happening to me last night and this morning, in case it helps: there was no "interrupted connection" as such. My browser was unable to see the full file size at any time during the transaction ("file size unknown") and so it kept thinking they were complete before they actually were. For instance, when I was downloading cab10 this morning, it reached 85Mb and then showed as "download complete", although clearly I knew it wasn't complete because the webpage said "file size=134Mb". As a result the download was unable to resume, the only option was to start again and "re-download" from scratch.
This morning I was using Speed Download on the Mac and initially that too was unable to see the file sizes, so I had the break at 85Mb when it thought cab10 was complete but it wasn't. However, I told SD to re-download the file and the 2nd time suddenly it COULD see the file size correctly, began displaying a "percentage complete" status indicator, as usual, and downloaded the whole file correctly - although it had to download it from scratch.
That was this morning (I got up early to try and get the files before things got busy). Last night I was getting the "1kb file" problem.
So my guess would be that there were two separate issues - the 1kb thing (which you say you found and fixed) and then a second issue with browsers and download managers being unable to see the correct file size and thus not knowing whether or not a download was complete. So if there was a break in transmission for whatever reason, the browser would assume that the download was complete, when actually it wasn't. Obviously that is just a guess, and a totally non-technical one at that!
It all seems to be working fine now though: I'm just downloading the second library I've bought and this time everything is going normally, SD can see the file sizes correctly and thus there are no problems. I hope everyone else is also now getting their downloads OK.
Can't wait to try out the new instruments! One and a half more files to go, then repair permissions, reboot and install...
