Short question about attack in VE/VI
I´m just wondering, if that´s right, that the attack in the perform window is not set to zero. As I understand the VSL samples, they allready have their natural attack. So if I choose a longer attack time, doesn´t that cut the natural realistic attack?

The slider is by default on the middle position, at this position you will get the original mapped attack values.
You can make the attack slower or faster rising up or down.
Of course only the samples which have any any attack values mapped, could set faster
(for examples most of the performance legato samples)
In general I think it makes only sense to smooth the attacks - making them slower, especially useful for
performance repetition patches, if you want use them for single note passages.
Here you can smooth out the releases of the previous notes if necessary.

Thanks for helping! Still some questions to make sure, I understood that right: If I use a sample, which has an original attack of e.g. 0.5 seconds. Will I get this 0.5 sec. attack in the position 50? Isn´t the atack parameter something like the first value of an ADSR-cure. If yes, how can I set a positive value (in this case higher than 50)? Is a higher value cutting parts of the sample or playing faster attack samples?

Yes.
Sorry, I think my previous post was missleading. If you set the slider to a higher value, the attack value of the ADSR curve will get longer, for example from 0.5 sec to 1 sec.

Which brings me to the next question: Which effect has setting a lower value? Will the sample start be cutted off or how is a faster attack beeing acheived?
