  • Strange VI behaviour after OS X Intel 1.12 update

    Hi there,

a few days ago I updated my VI to the latest version(OS X Intel 1.12)

since then when I open an instance in Logic 8 it crashes the whole application and I have to force quit Logic.

After starting and quitting the VI standalone and going back to Logic it works fine.

So from now on everytime when I want to use VI in Logic or when I just want to load one of my VI projects in Logic I have to launch the standalone to avoid a fatal Logic crash.

Seems not very logic to me.

    Anyone has the same problem?

    Some help?

    christof

  •  Hi Christof,

    This is pretty weird indeed...!

Can you please send me a crashlog, along with your system specs, to m.veenenbos@vsl.co.at, so our development team can look into this.

In the meantime, please run the Vienna Instruments Uninstaller, which came with the Vienna Instruments Software 1.12, download the software again and try installing once more. Does that make a difference?

Could it be an Audio Unit Validation issue in Logic?

    Best, Marnix

  • Hi Marnix,

in the meanwhile I know what the problem was:

    My own impatience!

When I start my mac (or restart) VI takes about 1 minute to locate the sample content on my external drive, sometimes a bit longer, and this causes Logic to start very slow.

But this appears only after a new sytem boot, after this everything runs fine till the next reboot.

Seems to be a Leopard problem, but I can live with it.
