  • Is it safe to come out now?

    Hi Everybody,

For once I decided to sit tight while the teething problems with VE are sorted out but looking at the forum it's still difficult to judge whether or not everything is working as expected.

So what's the verdict everybody? Perhaps good news for me is that I am running almost exactly the same system as Marnix (G5 4x2.5Ghz & Fireface 800) the only difference being that I am on Logic 8, not 7.2.3.

    Thanks,

    Colin

  • Yes I'm in the same boat - (G5 logic 7, 10.4.10) not sure if I want to risk my main computer!

  • Works fine for me on Mac OS X.5 on the same computer you said.

  • Scan the forum and you'll see a whole mixture of experiences - some good, others less so.

For me personally VE looks great but is still worryingly unstable.  I'm sticking with it for now, because I have work coming up for which being able to set up VE templates would really help.  I'd also like to feed my bugs back to the developers in the hope it helps them find resolutions and develop a more stable build sooner.

If I had a lot of critical work on now which required maximum stability, I'd avoid for a while, but that's just my view.

    Mac Pro 8-Core 3GHz, 8GB Ram, Logic Pro 7.2.3 (and 8), MOTU PCIe 424.

    Jules

  • How do,

I have a G5 dual 2ghz with 2.5gb on 10.4.10 and logic 7.2.3 and L8. It works alot better on this than on my intel -macbook 2ghz with 2gb core 2 duo running same software.

It's gonna be a fantastic piece of software but like other mentioned it is a bit unpreditable at the mo.....

  •  Hi all,

Since it is my main working machine, I am still sticking to MacOS 10.4.9 and Logic Pro 7.2.3 on my G5 Quad 2,5 GHz, but I installed both Leopard and Logic Pro 8 on my MacBook Pro.

In fact, Vienna Ensemble in its latest version basically runs stable on both my systems, besides a couple of flaws we only recently discovered and which are currently investigated by our development team.

Please bear with us - we are working on the updates and on further enhancements!

     Best, Marnix

  • Thanks Marnix....everybody!

I think I'll sit tight then for a couple more weeks, get existing projects out of the way and then take a look.

Looks like a fine concept though and I very much look forward to working with it.
