  • MacPro-Leppard-Cubase 4.1-Ensemble System Lockup

Using Cubase 4.1, I created four instances of ensemble as VSTs then assigned appropriate MIDI tracks. I have 3-30" Cinema screens of which I arranged the sequencer on one, the four ensembles on the second and Mixers & Misc on third. I loaded up the instruments and everything worked fine. I saved the Cubase sequence file. I tried loading the seqence file in Cubase after shutting down the system. After a minute or so, I received the following error message: Unable to Create Server Object. The server application might be already running, or the requested network port is not available. The Vienna Ensemble Service window is on the desktop with no instances shown in the dialog but an instance is displayed on the screen.  The one on the screen only has a bus and empty instrument -- not the ones I had setup in Cubase. The machine just sits there with the spinning color wheel. The only way out is to shut off the machine.

    Any Suggestions?

  • Hi Chuck,

we are aware of that bug and it will be addressed.

Workaround for now: Quit the "Vienna Ensemble" in your  Activity Monitor when Cubase freezes and reconnect all Vienna Ensembles, they will load up fine.

Sorry for the inconvenience, a fix can be expected soon!

    Best,

    Paul
