Ok,
After trawling through countless web sites, looking at Wormhole (which is ok but no longer being developed), JACK OSX, Sunflower, AUNetReceive/AUNetSend and FX-Teleport (no mac support and VST only) - I can't believe that it is beyond the wit of man to develop a reliable audio over gigabit ethernet solution.
Maybe I'm missing something - if so it would be good to know what. The ability to use Vienna Ensemble on multiple slaves with some form of networked solution would be a godsend. Especially for those of us with Mac Mini slaves where the only working solution is currently to buy a number of firewire/usb2 audio interfaces that support ADAT (or at least learn to live with the built-in SPDIF). I was hoping that Leopard might improve the latency issues around AUNetReceive/Send but haven't had chance to try it out.
Anyway apologies for the slight OT post but if plasq could do it (almost), why can't others - i.e the VSL team?
Rant over
Tim
