Well so far .. it Rocks. Install went without a hitch .. I put it on a new HD that is in my secondary bay. Took a while to transfer all my files over from the x.4 drive but still it was worth it. The system feels so damned fast. The operating system surely has been really streamlined. Only bugger I found so far is that my old OS9 game will no longer work as Classic mode is not supported any more in X.5 So I guess I'll be keeping a build of X.4 around for a while yet.
Haven't had a chance to really take it for a test drive yet .. and I've yet to see how Cubase and Logic react to the change .. and the VI's which I think I read are not working yet in Leopard .. correct me if I'm wrong plese.
But damn ... so worth getting. And this seems to really improve performance on my Quad G5 system.

Little update. I'm now trying the VI's with Logic 7 in X.5 ... so far everything is fine and normal. Altiverb needed a patch for the InterLok system but that was done in seconds with a download. But for me on a Quad G5 system there is no problem to continue with the X.5 build for music uses. I still have X.4 on another HD in case all went wrong. I would recommend that you install X.5 on a different HD .. use the Mac assistant to copy all your data .. and then try it out for yourself just to make sure it works right.
