  • extended license samples......

.....OK, I'm almost sure there's no way to do this, but......

I've had the Extended license samples for Brass I and Woodwinds I sitting on my harddrives for a year now, and I've finally dedided NOT to get the extended license to use them. (nothing against VSL whatsoever, btw......just a matter of priorities).

Is there ANY way I can get rid of these samples in my folders, to just isolate the standard license samples?

I wish it would be as easy as deleting some of the DAT files in the separate folders, but something tells me that this is not the case........

Also, I wonder if the extended license samples even take up that much space, and maybe it's not even worth deleting them?

  • I don't think that you can get rid of them. However, do the licences still show up in the GUI, even after all this time?

    Oh no.....I wish! 😊

I just really don't want the extended license samples, because it's been a year now, and I don't miss them at all, getting by just fine with the standard set.......

I wanted to see if a) it would be possible to get them off my drive, and b) if they actually take up enough space to even bother about it. (If not, then I suppose I don't mind them being there, but I wish I could......I want to make room for Appasionata Strings!)

Just a side note, though......if it's not possible to do what I'm proposing, and the extended license sample are indeed embedded in the DAT files along with standard license samples......well, that really kinda sucks!

  • Hello nine9tonerow,

there is no way to "erase" the Extended Library from your harddrive due to the complex architecture of the monolithic file format. All files are necessary.

Once you will like to get the Extended Library (or even just extended instruments, you will love the fact that it is just some clicks away, without even having to worry about finding the DVDs or installing the content for hours).

    Best,

    Paul

     Thanks for your reply here.......

Obviously, I knew that this wouldn't/couldn't be the case. But you can't blame me for asking! 😊

    Anyway, you said here:

It's not possible to just buy a couple of extended patches, is it?

Like, for example, just buy the scale runs?

I have never heard of this, but all of a sudden you lead me to believe that it's possible?

Don't get me wrong......if I had the money, I would have upped to the L2 immediately anyway! :)

  •  Hi,

it´s not possible to buy extended patches, sorry.

The Extended Libraries won´t run away. Have a little patience, money will come with the music [:)]

    Best,
