  • I am really confuse between appassionata & orchestral strings !

    Hi.

I hope all of you are doing well..I already owned appassionata strings it is really amazing library thanx to vsl. and i am thinking now for orchestral strings I + II my question is there a big different between appassionata and orchestral strings Regardless of the number of players because really i did not notice a big different when i was listening to orchestral strings demos..

    Regards.

  • Yeah .. it's quite a difference .. the Appasionatas are a thicker sound and one can really build very epic melodies with them .. also they are great for romantic themes. Nothing wrong with the orchestral strings of course .. but I've been using the App. Strings from the VI - SE and I love em. I'd so like to get the whole package and I think that I would only tend to use the App. Strings for my projects as they are more like the hollywood orchestra sound.

Thanx hetoreyn my opinion for you to get appassionata strings it is really an amazing strings library I have been heard I already owned VI SE. but if you need really feel what appassionata srings well do then go for thier full package[;)]

    Regards..

  • Regarding the use of the two libraries.

I use appasionata+solo or chamber as the 1st violins and Orch. strings + solo or chamber as my 2nd violins.

Also the Orch. strings have a larger degre of short notes. The staccatos sound very different from those in App. strings.

  • Hi christian did you mean the  staccatos sound in orchestral strings more sharper than appassionata strings really I am looking for sharp and rich strings sound..Still the appassionata strings my favorite[:D]

    Regards.

  • Yes, the staccatos/spiccatos in orch. strings are far sharper :)

  • Thanx mate Ok now what is the best choise with apparrionata strings to produce a rich and sharp strings sound together is it orchestral strings I Or Chamber strings ?

    Regards.

  • I would say that you have to get Orchestras Strings, becuase when you run out of Appassionata articulations, the Chamber ones won't "sit" well on their own. Personally I use all three, and sometimes a sprinkling of Solo Strings as well.
