    I tried installing VI v1.12 today - I'm eager to try RTAS.  However the installer repeatedly fails.  The installer log reads: "Install failed: The following install step failed: run preflight script for Vienna Instruments Software (Intel)".  My system is a Dual 3GHz Dual-Core Intel Xeon with 8G RAM, and it's been running VI v1.11 fine.

    I should have stated that the machine I'm installing on is a MacPro.   My host application is Digital Performer.

    I cannot reproduce this, but I´ll send you an uninstaller - that should help to solve the problem.

    I ran the uninstaller, which worked fine, restarted and downloaded the 1.12 installer from the link you provided but I'm getting the same error.  After I tried installing v1.12 a couple of times I ran the 1.11 installer, which I still had on my machine, just to see what would happen, and it ran correctly.

    I've quit all other applications while installing and repaired disk permissions - no change.  The installer gets to the "upgrade" button.  After I hit the button it displays "preparing target disk", then very briefly something about "preparing vienna instruments" before giving the message "Please try installing again".

    Hopefully the information that 1.11 works and 1.12 doesn't will provide some clue.

    FWIW, when I try to install 1.12 (for PPC), I get the message "There were errors installing the software - Please try installing again." I'm on a PPC G5 dual 2.5 GHz machine with OS 10.4.8. At the moment I don't have a Vienna Key on that system, but that shouldn't keep the software from installing, right? Would also love some guidance.

    Please try to repair your disk permissions with disk utility, then restart your computer and try to install 1.12 again. Unfortunately the problem cannot be reproduced here so far.... and I assume it´s related to incorrect permissions.

    Let me know if that works.

     Nothing to do, after permissions repaired an reboot, the same error.....

    I finally got v1.12 to install. 

    Looking carefully at the installer log suggested that it was having a problem because there was a space in the name of the folder containing the installer.  I tested this by moving the installer package to the desktop, and it worked fine.  Then I simply removed the space from the name of the folder to which the package had been downloaded and tried the installer from there, and it worked fine.  If I put the space back in the folder name the installer failed.

    I am still having this same problem even after it is said to have been fixed. Please help. This is supremely annoying. I am running a Mac Pro as well.[:(]

    I called Arron at ilio the american support and reseller . The could not help me. Arron requested I send a screenshot in to support over to you guys. I did.

    Please contact your provider to solve that problem.

    Regarding Vienna Instruments 1.12 -> please restart your computer, then download and install again the installer for Vienna Instruments 1.12 for intel-based Macs from our user area.

    Thank you for all your help. I am sorry about my email problem. I seem to be having the same issues over and over regardless of any instructions given. I spoke with Aaron at ilio again. My OS is completely up to date. I have repaired disk permissions.I rebooted then I downloaded a new copy of the installer for 1.12 after trashing the old copy.  I updated my syncrosoft. It is still not working. I have however installed v.1.05 beta and it loaded just fine but it doesn't work in logic 8. This leads me to believe that the problem is still the installer itself. Not sure how else to go about this. You are on the other side of the globe and work a completely different schedule that I do. I would like to get this problem solved ASAP. The software isnt cheap and at this point I can't use it. This is very frustrating. I would like to be up to date with the software updates, but more so I would love to be able to use software. I do not have the 1.11 installer anymore so going backwards is not an option at this point.

    Ok,... I Have tried everything and everyone has been extremely kind with the amount of attention they have given this however the fact remains that I am basically sitting on a purchase of thousands of dollars that I can't use because i can't get a installer to work. I no longer have version 1.11 so I can go backwards. The only thing i have installed on my computer at this moment is the actual samples for vienna insterments on a completely seperate hard drive. This is extremely frustrating. I REALLY need this problem solved. So far I have:  1) Repaired disk permission  2) Uninstalled previous versions   3) made sure my OS was up to date   4) Updated syncrosoft   5) Tried to download installer several different times on several different computers   6) Tried installing the v1.05 that came with the set. This setup from disk worked but does not work with my host software, Logic 8.   In the entire time I have owned this computer I have only had one user account that Vienna instruments has been installed under. If a previous installer works this leads me to believe there is something wrong with the installer if all other options have been tried. Yet you continue to be adamant that it is not the installer. This has us running in circles. There is nothing else on this system that has even the smallest problem. 

    I need some resolution.

    Aaron from ilio was kind enough to get me a copy of the installer for v1.11 . Oddly enough both v1.05 and v1.11 worked. Everthing has worked with the exception of  v 1.12.   v. 1.12 hasnt worked at all for me.
