  • Controlling Velocity in Logic

Hi there I run the VSL Instruments in Logic 7.2 on a G5. Following situation: To controll the velocity of the VSL Instruments, I always activate the X-Fade button in the instrument, then I hold "alt" and press the fader, the fader blinks, I tweak a knob of an external midicontroller, and voila, I can controll the velocity over my midicontroller.... all good so far. Mostly I edit the velocity later oder Hyperdraw in Logic. I know that this certain knob on my midicontroller is midichannel 18 in hyperdraw. So I click on the midifile in Logic and activate hyperdraw, channel 18, and voila I see the curve, and I can edit it with the mouse... still all good. Now it comes, what if I dont have my midicontroller with me? I cannot simply open hyperdraw and select channel 18 like usual, because I have to assign the instrument by turning the knob of my (in this case non existent) midicontroller. Isnt there a way to tell the VSL instrument "use channel 18" or something? I dont think that you have to have a midicontroller to assign the VSL instruments to a hyperdraw channel... Hope I didnt explain it to complicated... thanks, Beat

  • Uhm - are you sure that you mean MIDI-Channel 18? Or is it Logics Controller-Lane 18?

    (... just asking ...) /Dietz

  • I guess its Logics Controller-Lane, sounds reasonable since the channel itself in Logic says that its on channel 1, like all the other channels... (I admit I never really got that with the Midi/ChannelController-Lane)
