  • Tips on using perf leg & repetitions?

    Hi,

What I'd like to know is if you guys prefer to load perf leg & repetitions with all its velocity in one instrument or do you prefer to use only one layer at a time? Is it easier to avoid that jumping effect you get going from p to f ? Is it easier to handle the repetitions with one layer at a time?

I'd like to know what's your experience with that.

  • joe, this seems to be either a kontakt or a gigastudio question ... to which forum should i move your post?

and remember: only a CRAY can run an endless loop in just three seconds.

Well i though the question applied to all platforms but i though posting here would get more attention as i feel most people don't visit the Kontakt and giga studio anymore.

I'd appreciate it if you could wait a little before you move it to Kontakt?

    Thanks.

  • At least you could be sure the VSL Kontakt forum mods and Kontakt tech heads won't read it in here, granted [:D] Actually if you really aimed at all platforms, General Discussion would fit a lot better than the VI specialized section IMHO, as this question would never arise here.

Yea! I thought about it... But what do you mean when you say the question would never arise here? Isn't it possible to load just the p layer of a repetition?
Or are you obligate to load the repetition with all velocity layers? [*-)]

  • When you load a repetition of a particular length then you load it. You don't worry about which layers are being loaded.

I'm assuming you're talking about perf repetitions here.

So i guess people don't load individual layers to work with repetitions in general and that's what i wanted to know. The reason i was asking is I've translated all my perf from giga to k2 and have no multi layered perf instruments so i wanted to make sure i was not gonna build this instruments to end up not using them..

    Thanks DG.

Good! So would you say your opinion represent the majority here? It kind of make sense that it would but I'd like to be sure.

    Thanks in advance.

  • I can't say that my opinion on anything has ever represented the majority, so you'll have to wait until others chime in, I'm afraid.
