  • Clarinet in Opus the same as COP?

Clarinet in Opus the same as the one in the Complete Orchestral Package COP?

I'm asking cause the one in Opus 1 goes more than one octave lower?

    Thanks!

  • According to the manual they are the same but i don't understand why the one in Opus 1 has one more+ octave? Anyone know if this is how it's suppose to be?

  • OK i get it now it's both the KLB and the bass clarinet.

  • It's an extended patch. It contains the Clarinet from Pro Ed. and is extended in range downwards with the samples from the Bass Clarinet of Pro Ed. (In the articulation list of Opus 1 it is called "A#1–C#3: bass cl") This way you have glimpse of the bass and contrabass instruments. This also will apply to a few other instruments:

Clarinet & bass clarinet - A#1–C#3: bass cl
    Bassoon & contra bassoon - A#0–A1: contrab
Trombone & contrabass trombone - Instrument range: A0
    Bass & contrabass tuba - A0–B1: contrabass t

The extensions only apply to the standard patches. No performance legato's for the extended range instruments (e.g. no perf leg for contrabassoon, but of course for bassoon).

    All the best,

Thanks PolarBear, i pretty much figured it out after i posted. [:D] I have this bad abet off asking questions first and reed the manual later. [:D] But i am getting better.

About the clarinet i though it might have been a different one from the new stuff in VI since there are instruments from the new VI in Opus 2. Instruments like muted trumpet and muted trombone, and they are beautiful. So that's why i kind of jumped to conclusion here.

BTW, perf leg for contra bassoon is part of Opus 2, bass clarinet as well. A lot of cool stuff in there like fast repetitions etc... Certainly worth getting it at the current price... In case you didn't know.

    Thanks again!
