  • Why don't the violins go up to E6?

    Hi Herb,

Why don't the violins go up to E6?

    anyone there?

  • Which violin sections exactly?
VI-14 and VI-20 do have selected patches (sustains and staccato) going up to A7/A#7.
Other patches go up to D7 (middle c = c4)

  • Herb,

  • What about pitching up with pitchwheel two semitones to E7?

  • I'm using pitchwheel for volume fade-outs.

Why don't you guys just spread that last zone up higher?

  • Not possible,
the streaming engine is optimised for a certain preload Buffer size.
Pitching up means faster playback, this would mean larger buffer sizes.
That's the design of this streaming core engine.

Therefor two semitone is also the maximum for pitchwheel operations.
You can use any other controller for operating pitchwheel controller.

Why pitchbend for volume? Is it higher resolution?
