    It would be like playing a passage with "fast legato" and slowing it down, you're not going to get the proper articulation for it, and another thing by doing that you'll constantly end up with the same articulation, thus the same sound through out all your runs no matter what speed they are played, that will sound so machine like.
    The real solution will be more complex than that or involve a lot of runs at various speeds sampled. There's nothing free in life....

    Actually, to my ears the recorded runs only sound marginally better than a played run with the Perf Trill patch. OK, if you listen up front with no reverb then they sound way better, but for orchestral effects it is far quicker to play a run at half tempo in the sequencer than hunt for the correct scale, find that it doesn't fit and do the Perf Trill thing anyway.

    What I would be more interested in is some kind of automatic Harp glissando choosing. I need all start notes, all configurations, all speeds (a little time stretching or compressing wouldn't hurt), all dynamics and a morphing velocity crossfade. Any one else need this?

    DG - this is an idea worth trying - that is for sure. I can't tell you how many times I used another device than a scale run becuase it just didn't work - tempo wise.

    Thanks for the idea. Perf Trill patches, huh? Do you do the same for the WWs?

    Actually, what really sounds very nice is Chanmber strings, played half time using the short and regular staccs. Just used on a cue at 180 bpm (recorded double bowed scales at 90 bpm). WOW - can't believe I haven't tried something this easy and simple.

    Yes, and I include a little staccato with the first note so that it has a tiny accent. This can simulate changes of bow or tonguing and helps to give some life to the passage.

    Here something that helps runs. Layer in a the perf-portamento patch playing some or all of the run. Sounds great on really fast scale runs!

    Herb, I just saw violins spiccato runs at 140 bpm ... are they include in the VI ?
