Just so I understand this correctly.


1. Copy two tracks of a string line

2. Tranpose one 'copy' up a whole step - PW it down a whole step (less a minor difference for detuning FX)

3. Tranpose one 'copy' down a whole step - PW it up a whole step (less a minor difference for detuning FX)


And then set the midi track to have a timing offset (anyone familiar with doing this in SX 3.x???) I have always just played in new tracks but would be willing to do this time saver if it sounds good.

That is exactly what I did for that sample I posted. It's definitely faster, however, the inconsistencies in playing it over would make for an even more realistic section sound. Doing Pop/R&B, I wanted it very clean. For classical or film, etc. it might be better. I guess you would have to A/B it to see what suits your needs.

for the inspiring example, splendid work.
this is a good one to blend with other strings also, or if the appasionata strings feel to big for a track.
to me it sounds much better than the regular orchestral strings.
