  • Articulation Alt(1+2) question

In the new VI's, if you load an Alternating 1+2 patch (e.g. 0'3s 1 + 2), does it switch between variations automatically (like every second note) like it does in certain other large sample libraries, or does it rely on keyswitching? (like the old VSL libraries)

Thanks for your help in advance from Ireland!

  • Hi there Banquo. Yes,, the VI will alternate automatically. Sometimes, you will notice nice enhancements like with the legato patch where if you play quickly enough by repressing the same note it will switch the sample to a faster one so the attack is right [:)].

  • sorry, another question:

"Short notes: staccato, short détaché, long détaché, 4 variations each"

can anyone explain these '4 variations'? at first glance i read it as meaning 4 velocity layers, which i already knew, but are there really four variations of each of these articulations? because that would be cool...

  • Four variations for each velocity.
