  • VI harps I & II for "twi.light"

Two weeks ago I got the library Harp 1 & Harp 2 from Vienna Instruiment.
Two fanatstic harps. When I listened to the articulation "bisbigliando", which sounds very natural (you even can hear the nails of the performer),
I decided to arrange my composition "twi.light" from the album "the.legends.of.novajor" for two harps.

    Here comes the result:

The piece was arranged with Overture 4. Each system of score uses an own instance of Vienna instrument.
The piece was recorded with the record feature of Overture 4, the final mastering was done with Adobe Audition. Only a very small amount of reverb (of Silverspike's R2) was added. That's all.

"twi.light" was originally composed for 2 classical guitars.

You may compare the harp version with this one:

This is a original recording with Gabriel Guillén (Venzuela) & Bernard Hebb (USA/Germany).

"twi.light" was (and is) performed and recorded as solo & duet piece by serveral guitar artists all over the world & digital right protected. So please don't copy & distribute it.

  • Nice use of the Vienna harps. I do agree the finger picking does sound very natural. Nice job, now add some strings, and orchestration to the piece! [H]

    Thanks for your feed back.
It was never my intention to write "twi.light" as orchestra or strings orchestra piece.
It should be sound "magic" & "hollow".
I'm sure, if a add strings it will loose its transparency.

Did you compare it with the guitar version?
    Which one do you prefer?

  • I think I actually prefer the harps version, but it's they're both very nice. I can't vouch for the authenticity of the sound (not having listened to a lot of harp music in my day), but it sounds more ethereal than the guitar version. Great composition, either way!
